Pick-Up Information –Oct. 7 & 10 – Our last until the Holiday Box – Thanks for being a part of our Farm!

BUG INFO – Watch for a bug in the cabbage.

I wouldn’t compost the tomatoes or the kale due to possible fungi issues.

I left the tops on everything today – you might want to use these to make soup stock.

Your Pre-Packaged Box this week includes:
• A bunch of carrots
• 2 – 4 sweet peppers (not bagged) – 2 bell peppers and a few banana peppers and possibly a gypsy pepper.
• A bunch of chard
• A head of cabbage
• A bunch of salad greens - banded
• A bunch of Arugula - banded
• 3 to 4 turnips
• 4 - 5 beets
• A bag of sugar snap peas. Some are big. Just shell those and eat the pea.
• 1 kohl rabi
• Broccoli – these are side shoots. The leaves are tasty as well.
• 2 cooking onions. I just picked these yesterday so they still need to dry a bit. Just set them apart from other things in a dark, cool area and they’ll dry out. Let the ends dry up and fall off, don’t pull them off. Or, use them right away .
• 6 fingerling potatoes

Optional/extra Items – Please take:
• There are gourds on the table. The huge ones are a cross between a summer squash and acorn squash. The seeds are good but flesh is kind of bland. They’re a nice decoration.
• A pumpkin
• Optional herbs – sage, thyme, oregano, rosemary, fennel
• Basil
• Shelling peas – take a handful
• Green Beans – they’re kind of big but you could use them for soup
• Tomatoes – help yourself to about 8 – 10 romas
• Spicy peppers which may include: jalapeno, pablano (large green spicy pepper), cayenne (skinny red pepper), or mole (longer thin greenish-purple pepper – about 8” long). If you want to pick more spicy peppers, feel free to do so. There might be some thai peppers on the table!
• The flowers are about done but you are welcome to take what you can find
